Tamarind Wood Pen
Hand turned by Rafe, this one-of-a-kind pen carries a quiet story within its grain.
Made from richly figured Tamarind wood, its warm tones and flowing patterns give it a depth and character that immediately draws the eye. Tamarind is typically found in much warmer climates, making this piece feel all the more unique. It's a small mystery of wood that has travelled before finding its final form here in North Vancouver.
The wood itself was sourced locally from a fellow woodworker, then carefully shaped on the lathe to reveal its natural beauty. Each curve of the pen follows the grain, allowing the organic markings and subtle shifts in colour to come through.
Finished slowly with walnut oil shellac, and a final touch of beeswax, the surface is smooth, warm, and alive in the hand, not just something to write with, but something to connect to.
Balanced with polished metal hardware, this pen is both practical and meaningful, perfect for journaling, gifting, or simply keeping close as an everyday companion.
