Hand-turned Scottish Spurtle
There’s something quietly special about a simple wooden tool.
These spurtles were first made for our own home inspired by a small memory of slow mornings and stirring oatmeal the traditional way.
Each one is hand-turned by Rafe using locally sourced wood from around British Columbia. No two are the same. Subtle differences in grain, tone, shape, and weight reflect the natural character of the wood and the process of making.
Traditionally used for stirring porridge, spurtles are gentle on cookware and feel natural in the hand. They bring a sense of ease and intention to everyday cooking.
Simple, functional, and made to last.
